Hi there.
I’m a biologist, bioinformatician and manager at SecureBio, where I help run the Nucleic Acid Observatory project for early detection of catastrophic pandemics.
Before joining SecureBio, I was a researcher at MIT and the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, as well as short stints at the Future of Humanity Institute and Wild Animal Initiative.
Outside of my work in biosecurity, I’m fascinated by evolutionary biology, history, metalearning, and complex systems of many kinds. I like effective altruism, transhumanism, mechanism design, free speech, and anti-speciesism. I love genre fiction, video games, board games and TTRPGs, and dabble in photography and AI art.
In 2025, I married JP Addison. We live in Cambridge, Massachusetts with too many game consoles and our fictional dog, Bubbles.
